Domain Name Sells For $14 Million Dollars to Break the All-Time Reported Record?

Escow, LLC has officially been reported to have bought Sex.com for $14m from Grant Media, owned by highly famed domainer, Gary Kremen. For those that are not aware Kremen was also the founder of the extremely successful matchmaking site, Match.com.

If everything turns out to be 100% correct and the deal was, in fact, for the domain name alone, it would make it the all-time reported record-breaking domain name sale of all-time, nearly doubling the old Business.com record of $7.5m. Definitely not a bad way to start off the year and if it is any indication of the rest of 2006 will play out it could mean domaining is in store for a tremendous year.
